Grains

Grains are small, hard, dry seeds, with or without attached hulls or fruit layers, harvested for human or animal consumption. Agronomists also call the plants producing such seeds "grain crops". The two main types of commercial grain crops are cereals such as wheat and rye, and legumes such as beans and soybeans.

Oil seeds

Oilseeds are seeds, primarily grown for the oil they contain. They are a crucial source of both edible oil and protein for human consumption and animal feed. The major oilseed crops include soybeans, cottonseed, sunflower seed, canola, rapeseed, and peanuts.

Vegetable oil

A vegetable oil is a triglyceride extracted from a plant. The term "vegetable oil" can be narrowly defined as referring only to plant oils that are liquid at room temperature, or broadly defined without regard to a substance's state of matter at a given temperature.
